Website Maintenance & Support Policy
Effective October 1, 2026
Websites naturally evolve as businesses grow. Whether you need a quick content update, a new section added, help troubleshooting an issue, or ongoing design support, I'm happy to continue supporting your website after launch.
This policy helps keep website requests organized, provides clear expectations for scheduling and billing, and allows me to give each client's website the time and attention it deserves.
Standard Maintenance Rate
Website maintenance, support, and additional design work is billed at my standard rate of $175/hour.
Maintenance is billed with a 30-minute minimum ($87.50) and in 30-minute increments thereafter.
Whenever possible, I will let you know in advance if I anticipate a request requiring a significant amount of time or if the work would be better handled as a separately quoted project.
What Is Considered Billable Time?
Billable website support may include:
Website content and image updates
Layout and design changes
Adding or modifying website sections
Creating or updating pages
Mobile optimization
Navigation changes
Blog formatting and updates
Product or service updates
Forms and newsletter integrations
Squarespace troubleshooting
Custom CSS or code adjustments
SEO updates
Domain and DNS assistance
Third-party integrations
Research and troubleshooting
Client meetings or calls related to website updates
Creating instructional videos or tutorials
Email support requiring research or troubleshooting
In general, if time is being spent updating, designing, researching, troubleshooting, or providing individualized website support, that time may be considered billable.
Maintenance vs. New Projects
Routine updates and smaller additions can typically be completed as hourly maintenance.
Larger requests — such as multiple new pages, significant redesigns, advanced functionality, new website features, or work that substantially changes the existing website — may be quoted separately as a project rather than completed hourly.
I will let you know before beginning work if I believe a separate project quote would be more appropriate.
Submitting Website Requests
Please include all requested changes, copy, images, links, files, and relevant instructions when submitting your request.
Whenever possible, I recommend grouping several small updates into one request so they can be completed within the same maintenance block.
Requests sent through text messages, social media DMs, or unrelated email threads may be redirected to the following email address: hello@dreyahbohlen.com
Scheduling & Turnaround
Standard maintenance requests are generally scheduled within 5–7 business days, depending on the size of the request and my current project schedule.
Submitting a request does not guarantee a specific completion date.
If you have a firm deadline, please include it on your request form. I will confirm whether the requested timeline can be accommodated before beginning work.
Rush Requests
Requests requiring completion within 2 business day are considered rush requests and are subject to availability.
Approved rush work is billed at 1.5x the client's applicable hourly rate.
Rush availability is not guaranteed.
Client-Provided Content
Clients are responsible for providing final copy, imagery, files, links, login credentials, product information, and other materials necessary to complete the requested work.
Time spent organizing, resizing, formatting, sourcing, rewriting, or otherwise preparing materials may be included in billable time.
Missing materials may delay the completion of your request.
Revisions & Additional Requests
Maintenance work is completed according to the instructions and materials provided with the original request.
Minor corrections related directly to completed work are included when communicated promptly.
New requests, changed direction, additional content, or revisions outside of the originally submitted request may require additional billable time.
Third-Party Platforms
I am happy to assist with third-party platforms, integrations, domains, plugins, email marketing platforms, and other website-related services when possible.
However, I cannot guarantee the functionality or availability of platforms outside of my control.
Time spent investigating or troubleshooting third-party services is considered billable website support.
Preferred Client Rates
Certain long-standing clients may receive a Preferred Client Rate based on previous working relationships or agreements.
Preferred pricing is provided at my discretion and may differ from my current standard hourly rate.
Preferred Client Rates are subject to future adjustment and do not establish a permanent or lifetime hourly rate.
Any pricing changes will be communicated in advance.
Payment
Maintenance work will be invoiced based on the amount of time required to complete the request and the client's applicable hourly rate.
Payment is due according to the terms listed on the invoice.
Accounts with outstanding invoices may need to be brought current before additional maintenance work can be scheduled.
Ongoing Website Maintenance
Businesses that require frequent website updates may be better suited for an ongoing maintenance plan rather than individual hourly requests.
Ongoing maintenance options may include reserved monthly support time, priority scheduling, and a reduced effective hourly rate.
Please reach out if you'd like to discuss whether ongoing maintenance makes sense for your business.
Thank You
I truly appreciate the clients who continue to trust me with their websites long after the initial launch.
These policies allow me to provide thoughtful, reliable website support while maintaining the same level of care and attention I bring to larger website projects.
Thank you for trusting me with your business!
